Virgin Birth Part 2
Butter and Honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. Isaiah 7:15
Butter and honey possess absolutely no virtue to endue one with wisdom and will to choose the good and to refuse the evil. 2 Timely Greetings, #45, p.4, The Shepherd's Rod, V.T. Houteff
Moreover these two literal articles of food --butter and honey--can never in themselves enable anyone to know the difference between good and bad. 6 Tract, p. 28, The Shepherd's Rod, V.T. Houteff
A literal diet such as this honey and butter, instead of milk, would cause the demise of a literal babe.
So the babe that Isaiah speaks of would not have been Isaiah's and could not have been the miracle virgin birth sign. The sign was not fulfilled any time during the old testament era. There is a time discrepancy. The honey and butter represent spiritual food.
Virgin Birth Part 3
For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings. Isaiah 7:16
The lands, Israel, and Syria, which Judah abhorred, were to be forsaken of both their kings--conquered by the king of Assyria--before Immanuel was to be able to refuse the evil and choose the good. 14 Tract, page 36, The Shepherd's Rod, V.T. Houteff
The sign had nothing to do with the breaking of an ancient confederacy and points to a latter day confederacy that will be broken during our latter day times. Ahaz did not believe, but a remnant of latter day Christians will believe. Our faith is to be established in God's word only, and not in the sign by itself.
