Why Did God Use the Number 666?

The ultimate question is Why?  Why did God choose to identify the beast in Revelation Chapter 13 with the number 666?  Not many have addressed this question.  There is plenty of speculation about Who, What, Where, When regarding this Anti-Christ figure.  But the question Why will prove to be the enlightening factor.

Galileo tried to tell them but they would not listen.  He tried to tell them something different during the times that he lived in and where did it get him?  The people just could not change their beliefs.

Our Thoughts Hard to Change

As we live through the years we develop a belief system, our own thoughts and sets of values.  Once these thoughts are established, they are sometimes hard to change.  To upset our beliefs and thought patterns disturbs our view of ourselves.  And this can be a very uncomfortable feeling.  Problems with viewing reality as opposed to fiction has always been since the beginning of time.  The only hope is that there has to be a willingness within ourselves to want to learn.  An interest in breaking up the ice castles of our minds.
